• MARTINSBURG — Pikeside UMC Summer Vacation Bible School will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 26, through Thursday, July 28, and concludes on Sunday, July 31, at 10:30 a.m. with a VBS themed worship service. Each evening, children aged 3 through 12 will participate in Bible lessons, crafts, snack time, watch skits, and more. Teens are welcome to join as official “Parable Partners” VBS guides. MARTINSBURG — Orders are now being taken for St. Luke’s United Methodist Church homemade pies. These pies are prepared by church members from scratch and then provided frozen. Apple, blueberry, cherry, peach and mince meat pies are $10. These pies will be available throughout the summer months and into the fall.

Several local agencies benefit from the project’s proceeds including C-Cap, Loaves and Fishes, Warm the Children, the Rescue Mission, Shenandoah Women’s Shelter, Meals on Wheels, Panhandle Home Health and Habitat for Humanity.

MARTINSBURG — The Pikeside United Methodist Men will host a take-out dinner on Friday, July 1, at 5 p.m. until sold out. Each dinner is $9 and includes a boneless grilled chicken breast, scalloped potatoes, green beans, roll and a dessert (a dinner with two chicken breasts is $12). Due to supplier price increases, the cost of the meal has increased. All proceeds from this dinner will support the Pikeside Men’s ministry as we work to help their scouting ministries and community. KEARNEYSVILLE — Kids can take their parents or grandparents to a free lunch featuring hot dogs and chips at Leetown United Methodist Church, 11133 Leetown Road, in Kearneysville, on Saturday, July 16, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. (or until all out). This is an outdoor event on the grassy area at the church and also on the parking lot. In case of rain, the event will be postponed and rescheduled for a later date. Church to host free community lunch and clothes closet

GERRARDSTOWN — The Gerrardstown United Methodist Church, 1781 Gerrardstown Road, (Rt.51W), will host its free community lunch on July 20, from 11 a.m.-12:30 p.m. (while supplies last). The menu will be sub sandwiches, bag of chips and cookies for dessert.

The clothes closet will be open at the same time and also from 3-6 p.m. The clothes closet is accepting summer clothes at this time. For more information about the lunch, call Linda at 304-229-3532, and questions, or to drop off clothes, call Eva at 304-229-0048.

MARTINSBURG — Second Baptist, located on High Street in Martinsburg, is reopening its clothing closet 10 a.m.-noon on Thursdays at 913 N. St., Martinsburg. It will give out food boxes the third Thursday of the month.

MARTINSBURG — The Winchester Avenue Christian Church clothing closet is open 10 a.m.-noon on the first and third Thursday during July, August and September, with free clothing for men, women and children. The church is located on the corner of Winchester Avenue and Stephen Street. Use the entrance on Stephen Street. To make clothing donations call Kathy at 304-229-8825.
